The Memphis rap veteran this week comes out with another release called “Stay Ur Distance,” which gives listeners a vivid picture of his struggle to stay afloat as the pandemic wreaks havoc on peoples bodies and livelihood; holding down the fort while many grapple with lifestyle changes:
“First week of that virus, I lost a half a mil’, we gon’ see who survive and who hustlin’ skills are up-to-date, n***as calm there out, all must not presume it’s real, Southside I kinda miss you, in that field I wanna be there.
Dior my mask, my phone just been hit by your b***h, I might smash her just the more, the d***, I gave her, the night turned out the best in her life, but still askin’ for something more? My chain you touch, of course I crash, that mission you must abort/
Life of thug, n***a, lookin’ forward for it, back there out, the doors I can’t find, five, six trucks of Lam’, five, six Cullinans//’’
It comes with a visual courtesy of BenMarc which shows Gotti in different parts of his luxurious home. Viewers get insight of his regular day. He can be seen working out, enjoying breakfast, and putting work in the studio, among others.
‘’Stay Ur Distance” comes after the single ‘’Recession Proof,” which is first official release for Gotti after parting with Epic for an Independent route. Untrapped, which is his last studio, released in January, had 15 tracks which had features from Lil Uzi Vert, Rick Ross, Estelle, Money Bag, Black Youngsta, Lil Baby, Megan Thee Stallion, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie and Ty Dolla $ign.
